New Beginnings

Already has the New Year been ushered in; let us pause and ask, what has been the history of the past year, with its burden of records has now passed into eternity? There are many things we wish we had done, but didn't do, things said and harsh words spoken we wish we could take back but cannot; this year has given us the opportunity to right wrongs and to improve on all aspect of our lives. What will be our resolve? The admonition of the apostle comes down the line to every one of us, "Examine yourselves; prove your own selves." Let us not be as engrossed with other matters as to give no time to serious, critical self-examination! Let us consider the things which concern our eternal interests.

I pray you will inquire into the character of your thoughts, purposes, and your words, during the past year. Have the fruits that you have borne, be a blessinging to you? or have they witnessed against you? Give careful thought; be thorough in your examination of the past year for only then can you move forward and make this year a wonderful year. May you see the defects in your character, and recognize and acknowledge that we have made mistakes; and be quick to admit and change them.

Let us heed the commands of the Lord so that we will be honoured by him, "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." If you do not in your daily life exemplify these principles, you cannot be accepted before God. Let the love of Jesus take possession of your entire life.

This new year can be a year of new beginnings you can by the grace of God find yourselves striving to obtain a new and genuine experience in the things of God? Make your wrongs right as far as possible.  Allowing kindness, and love and hope, to become a part of your life; then whatsoever things are pure and lovely and of good report will become your experience.

Another year untried, with bright hopes, new challenges, great opportunities; One in which  you can improve on all areas of your live; another year with its spotless record is before you; what shall that record be?
