The Word

Holiness is not ecstasy: It is the surrender of our will to God;  living by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. It is trusting God in trial, in darkness as well in the light. In every request and in every promise of the word of God is power. When we prayerfully study the Bible we become wiser and understand the will of our father God, better as the Lord quicken our understanding. We should endeavour to search the Scriptures, whenever there is opportunity, that we may be better able to discern truth from error.

"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom." Matthew 4:23.

"He opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for their's is the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:2, 3)  Such was the teaching of Christ as  he sought to open the hearts and minds of the people to the beauty of the kingdom of God. In the crowd that surrounded Jesus there were some who had a sense of their spiritual lack  they longed for "the grace of God that bringeth salvation"

Of the poor in spirit Jesus says, "Their's is the kingdom of heaven." This kingdom is not, as Christ's hearers had hoped, a temporal and earthly dominion. Christ was opening to them the spiritual kingdom of His love, His grace, His righteousness.  His subjects are the poor in spirit, the meek, the persecuted for righteousness' sake. The kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Everyone can come to Jesus, all who have a sense of unworthiness, who feel that they have nothing good in themselves, may find righteousness and strength by looking unto Jesus. He calls all to come and experience the riches of His grace. We are not worthy of God's love, but Christ, is worthy, and is able to save all who come unto Him. Whatever may have been your past experience, if you will come to Jesus just as you are, weak and helpless, Jesus will accept you.

He loves you, he died that you might have the abundant life, won't you trust him with your life, give him your heart today, and he will save you.
