David's prayers helped to silence his fears; many besides him have looked unto the Lord by faith and prayer, and it has wonderfully revived and comforted them.

However high their office, men are accountable to God. Indulgence of any sort do not glorify God, nor man for it is God and Him alone who turns the waters of the river. "Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1Peter1:13. "For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord endures for ever." 1Peter1:23.
