Bible: Bible Facts On Jesus Return

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28.

The Bible is filled with precious promises of the soon return of Jesus, a look at some of these passages from the Bible should bring comfort to our hearts as we await His return.
just as certainly and surely as Christ was crucified years ago, just as certainly He will appear the second time.

John 14:1-3. "Do not be worried and upset, Jesus told them. Believe in God and believe also in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am. You know the way that leads to the place where I am going." When Jesus was here on the earth, He promised in just so many words that He would return to earth at the last day, or at the end of time, to reward every man according to his works.  He said, “I go and 1 will come again." So as surely as He went back to heaven, just so surely we may know that He will return to this earth at the right time.

Matthew 16:27. "For the Son of Man is about to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will reward each one according to his deeds." Matthew 26:64. "Jesus answered him,  So you say. But I tell all of you: from this time on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right side of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of heaven!"

Jesus Appears to His Disciples
Jesus had a real body of flesh and bones, with hands and feet, after His resurrection, and He went back to heaven with that real body. Luke 24:35-43. "The two then explained to them what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized the Lord when he broke the bread. While the two were telling them this, suddenly the Lord himself stood among them and said to them,  Peace be with you. They were terrified, thinking that they were seeing a ghost. But he said to them, Why are you alarmed? Why are these doubts coming up in your minds?  Look at my hands and my feet, and see that it is I myself. Feel me, and you will know, for a ghost doesn't have flesh and bones, as you can see I have. He said this and showed them his hands and his feet. They still could not believe, they were so full of joy and wonder; so he asked them, Do you have anything here to eat? They gave him a piece of cooked fish, which he took and ate in their presence."
Luke 24:50, 51 "Then he led them out of the city as far as Bethany, where he raised his hands and blessed them. As he was blessing them, he departed from them and was taken up into heaven."

He will come in like manner
He will come in like manner as He went back to heaven at His ascension. He went back to heaven literally, bodily, personally, and visibly. So when He comes in like manner at His second advent, we know that He will come from heaven bodily, literally, personally, and visibly. The second coming of Christ will be a literal, bodily appearing of Christ from heaven in the sight of all the people of the earth, and not any figurative or spiritual coming. Acts 1:9-11. "After saying this, he was taken up to heaven as they watched him, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They still had their eyes fixed on the sky as he went away, when two men dressed in white suddenly stood beside them and said, Galileans, why are you standing there looking up at the sky? This Jesus, who was taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way that you saw him go to heaven."

Revelation 1:7. Every person, every eye, will see Him when He appears in the clouds of heaven. Christ will not appear at His second advent in any secret way just to the elect, but all the tribes of the earth shall see Him coming on the clouds, with power and great glory. Matthew 24:30. "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory." His coming will be just as open and visible to all people as the lightning. Matthew 24:27. "For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west."

All shall see Him
The wicked will see Him as He approaches the earth at His coming, and will try to hide. Revelation 6:15-17. "Then the kings of the earth, the rulers and the military chiefs, the rich and the powerful, and all other people, slave and free, hid themselves in caves and under rocks on the mountains. They called out to the mountains and to the rocks. Fall on us and hide us from the eyes of the one who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb!  The terrible day of their anger is here, and who can stand up against it?"

We can respond to the call of Christ, to come unto Him and accept His pardon so that we can spend eternity with Him. What will your response be?
